Our Basic CQB Course is designed to introduce civilian shooters to the fundamentals of Close Quarters Battle (CQB), providing the essential skills needed to operate effectively in confined spaces. This one-day course will take you through the basics of moving, shooting, and communicating in environments where space is limited and threats can appear suddenly. Whether you’re interested in home defense, tactical training, or personal growth, this course offers the foundational knowledge to help you stay safe and respond effectively in high-pressure situations.
With a heavy focus on safety, this course walks you through the essential principles of room entry, cornering, and threat engagement in close quarters. Our instructors have extensive military and law enforcement backgrounds, ensuring that you receive top-tier training while staying grounded in civilian applications. By the end of the day, you’ll have a clear understanding of CQB principles and how they apply to everyday environments, such as home defense.

Required Equipment

Gear:
Eye and ear protection (mandatory)
Long sleeve shirt and gloves for comfort and protection

Ammunition:
Weapons and sim rounds will be provided for all participants.
Bring your side arm for dry practice

Water and snacks (due to limited breaks)
Notepad and pen for taking notes
Optional: Tactical belt or load-bearing gear (if you already own one)
Prerequisites

No prior CQB experience necessary, but basic firearms handling and proficiency is required.

Collin Skees
Collin Skees is a veteran of Air Force Special Warfare, serving as a JTAC. He later worked as a CIA contractor in high-threat environments and has extensive experience in high-threat executive protection, safeguarding key personnel in some of the most volatile regions in the world.
Currently, Collin instructs anti-terrorism courses for the U.S. State Department and brings his expertise in tactics and firearms to The Benjamin Guard, delivering top-tier training to military, law enforcement, and civilians.
