“Yes, prior experience is a requirement as this program is designed to train trainers. We seek candidates with substantial experience in both shooting and teaching, preferably holding certifications from other reputable organizations.

Our certification program is tailored for individuals with advanced proficiency in shooting and teaching; it is not suitable for novices or those lacking teaching experience. Our emphasis lies not solely on the duration of your experience but rather on your ability to surpass industry standards in both shooting and instruction.

Applicants must possess teaching experience to be considered, as our evaluation of teaching skills is more rigorous than our shooting standards. Regarding shooting proficiency, candidates must demonstrate the following skills:

• – Consistently hitting 8 out of 10 shots within a 1-inch square target at 4 yards.
• – Consistently landing 8 out of 10 shots on an 8.5″ x 11″ paper target from 25 yards.
• – Drawing and engaging an A-Zone target from the holster at 25 yards, firing 10 shots within 20 seconds. Candidates must consistently achieve 8 out of 10 shots within the A-Zone.”

However, it’s important to note that while we provide recognition, the responsibility for promoting your classes and/or business rests with you. In contrast, affiliates of The Benjamin Guard are official representatives of our organization. As affiliates, we actively support and promote their classes, offering invaluable assistance in expanding their reach and attracting students.

You are allowed to say you are certified to teach the specific classes we provide curriculum to during our in-person training. However, you may not use our name or logo for any other purpose. Use of our name and logo are reserved for our affiliates.

Both are affiliated with The Benjamin Guard. Certified instructors have passed our strict standards of performance and teaching. No limits exist to how many people can be certified in a given location. In contrast, there are only 1 or 2 affiliates per designated market area. Affiliates are the official faces of our brand. They must be certified and go through a separate application evaluation process. They can use our name and logo, and they are listed on our website as official cadre members.

In-person evaluations are held at The Benjamin Guard Head Quarters In Cumby Texas multiple times a year. Check our event calendar for current dates. We continually add dates throughout the year.
